Carolyn Martin's Funeral
On May 16th, 2015, my mother Carolyn Martin passed away unexpectedly. On that morning, she went into cardiac arrest. After fighting for her life for 9 hours, the decision was made to let her rest in peace.
Carolyn was an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt and friend. She was beautiful, intelligent, funny and strong, and made an impact on everyone she met. She was a giving person and liked helping people, and one of the ways she was able to do that was through her 24 years of service with the Social Security Administration. Out of high school, she even served in the US Army, which brought her to Washington. She was also active in her community by serving on various councils for Pierce County and the City of Tacoma. She was recently retired, and enjoyed endulging in Pop Culture. She had become a fan of Facebook and Twitter, mostly so she could stay on top of current affairs such as Bring Back Our Girls and the Black Lives Matter Movement. She had also become a fan of the Seahawks, and wove her "12" flag with pride.
My mother gave everything she had to her family, and sometimes that came at the expense of herself. My mother didn't have anything in place that we could find to cover herself for an event such as this. I am hoping to inspire people to help her as she has helped others. We have scheduled her funeral service for June 12th 2015 at Mountain View, where she will be laid to rest with another of her children, Samantha Miranda.
The amount I have posted will cover the cost of her burial and funeral service. Any additional funds will go toward her marker. Our family appreciates anything you can give, and we whole heartedly thank you in advance.
Thank you,
Danielle Martin
