Beat Breast Cancer!

None of us ever expect to hear a Doctor say “cancer”, but that’s what my friend Emily Lucero

heard during a Doctor visit in November of 2022. It’s a shocking diagnosis for anyone. It was

especially surprising for Em, given that she is only 32 years old. But Cancer doesn’t

discriminate.

Emily is a smart, funny, kind, talented and beautiful young woman in Phoenix, AZ who is facing

Stage 2 MetaplasticTriple Negative Breast Cancer. She learned that only 0.2% - 5% of all breast

cancers are this type. Because this is a very aggressive cancer, her Doctors went straight to

surgery - which she had in December. She is now going through 6 months of intensive

chemotherapy and radiation treatments are possible in the future.

Emily is a strong and independent soul who finds it hard to ask for help. It's difficult to see her

stress levels this high. That’s why we decided to start a GofundMe page on her behalf, in the

hopes that “a little, offered by many” will alleviate some of her stress, so she can focus on

healing instead of worrying about how to pay her medical bills & expenses.

It's hard enough dealing with cancer, but the heavy financial burden of the medical treatment

only adds to an already stressful time in her life. There are so many additional costs that are

not covered by insurance, which add up to significant amounts. For instance, this type of

chemotherapy treatment will adversely affect her fertility. But IVF treatment and egg freezing

are not included. Also, wigs are not covered... and a quality wig can cost several thousand

dollars.

We - her friends, coworkers, and people that care about this amazing young woman, would be

grateful for any donations you can make on her behalf. All funds will go towards her medical

expenses and additional expenses not covered by insurance.
