My name is Tyler and I have created this campaign for my mother Brandi. She was recently diagnosed with ACC which is Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma. This cancer is the type that does not discriminate and will attack any and all cells. From what I have been reading this cancer is slow progressing but once it is ready it is very aggressive. There have not been a lot of case studies on this type of cancer so we as a family have been exploring other options besides the standard surgery which is, in a lack of words, removing half of the face. The recovery process for the standard surgery is to get a prosthesis eye and eye socket. I am trying to raise $10,000 to cover traveling costs to other intitutions to find other means of treatment, reconstructive surgery, and other expenses. My dad has found a hospital in Houston that could save her eye but since we live in California the traveling expenses could be steep for a family of 6. As of now we are exploring the Houston hospital.
As you can imagine this news has rattled me and my younger siblings. My mother is only 45 and is fighting to save her life and to see her youngest graduate high school.
