Don Smith’s Funeral and Memorial funding
Donation protected
Hello. I’m Khera Smith. As you may know, My father is no longer with us here on earth. A little less than two weeks ago He had been diagnosed with cancer. He did not suffer long. It came quick and he passed away peacefully, surrounded by friends and Family this Tuesday morning. When he went, he knew how much he was loved. And BOY was he loved.
With this being sudden and he being only 60, we weren’t that prepared. We are now raising money for his funeral. This money will go towards the cost of his service and the processes involved. Also, a small part of the money will be a plane ticket for my Son and I to fly back up to be there for the Funeral. It will be held in Oregon where he was raised. His father and most of his family lives there. I’ll update when I know the exact date of his funeral.
I know times are tough but even just $5 can help. However, Prayers mean a lot too so if you can’t help out financially, sending love and prayers will mean a lot. It helps keep us grounded in these rough times. I thank you all and if anyone has questions, photos or just need to talk please feel free to message me on FB but know I might be slow at replying due to the stress of the situation but I do love hearing your memories!
All funds raised go towards funeral expenses, travel, and misc things like taking care of his Dog, Ratchy. If you don’t want to send on GoFunMe, my CashApp is $KheraSmith
My Father was best known as “Coach Don” by his students at Sailor circus. He touched many lives and taught many children there. Circus became his whole life. He supported my career and cherished being a coach. He was also a great rigger, circus equipment builder and he taught many other circus acts during his life and time at Sailor Circus.
He was very accepting of everyone and made many of us feel like we fit in when we might have otherwise been outcasted. Watching his students learn new things and accomplish their goals made him so proud. Many didn’t know but he would shed a tear when his students would perform their new tricks for the first time or reach a goal. He loved each one of you so much more than you know.
My Dad was also known as Brother, Father and Grandpa. His family meant so much to him. My brother and I were his world and he had SO much love for his Grandbabies. He was blessed to spend his last two years with his dad and Son when he hasn’t seen them in years. They were by his side these past two weeks.
His face will live on in many people. His Father, his Son and two grandsons. When I see my kids eyes, I see my Father staring back.
He was even a Father to people who needed one. I’m sure there’s countless people who lives were touched by this wonderful man.
theres so much I want to say but it’s so hard to fit everything into words. My Father was an amazing man who loved so many people and so many people loved him. He was Military and loved our country. He loved riding his unicycle and playing pool. He was a talented craftsman and carpenter. He loves family and friends. I wish my children would have had the chance to know him as well as I do. I wish everyone got to know him as I do. He’s my best friend. He helped shape me and so many others.
