My best friend, Mina, has Functional Neurological Disorder. Functional Neurological Disorder, or FND, is a condition that affects how the brain sends and receives information to the body. This results in symptoms such as seizures, speech difficulties, fatigue, numbness/tingling, nerve pain, chronic migraines, and cognitive difficulties. Symptoms differ between patients, but Mina experiences all of the above symptoms on a near-daily basis.

Mina began experiencing symptoms in August of 2020. Unfortunately, due to the lack of research and awareness, Mina was dismissed by medical professionals for over 3 years before finally being diagnosed in January of 2024. We finally had an answer! However, that didn't change the situation much because there is no cure and very little in the way of treatment.

That didn't stop Mina though! She diligently researched alternative options and eventually found Re+Active in California. This facility offers an FND treatment program. They utilize physical therapy, occupational therapy, psych therapy, yoga therapy, and general fitness and nutrition management to treat patients. After completing a consultation call with the director of the FND program, Mina felt hopeful! We believe this is the place that can improve Mina's quality of life immensely.

FND has affected Mina's life greatly. Mina hasn't been able to work since late 2020 due to FND. Mina can't complete daily chores without triggering a seizure. Mina's daughter has only ever known the version of her that is too exhausted to go for a family walk. Mina, as well as her friends and family, are desperate for relief and freedom from this condition.

The only obstacle: money. Mina will need to stay in California for a month to receive treatment. Between treatment and housing/food expenses, it's going to cost about $20,000.00. So we're asking you to help. Please donate anything you can to help Mina receive the treatment she needs.
