Steve Szalczyk is a 43 year old father of 3 who has recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer. With the support of his loving wife, family, and friends, he is facing an impending surgery in July to remove his prostate.
Unfortunately, with each biopsy, medication, and doctor visit, his medical expenses are mounting. In addition, his inadequate insurance plan will only a cover a small portion of the cost of his life-saving surgery and recovery thereafter.
To make matters worse, he will be home bound during his month long plus recovery, and unable to get to his office to work to pay off these medical expenses and is also commission-based to top it all off.
Steve loves coaching all of his kids' team sports - baseball, basketball, soccer, and cheering (or armchair coaching) for their other sports, lacrosse and swimming.
He loves to watch any game, whether it be a professional match up, or a little league game down the street. He also known to sneak away, whenever possible, to go deer hunting. He's looking forward to many winters of hunting with his son, to continue coaching his kids' teams, and to walk his girls down the aisle.
He's always available to help a friend in need, whether it be for a helping hand or a compassionate ear. As a husband, he's always been a best friend,
a partner through life, and a shelter in a storm. As well, he's an amazing father, brother, and son. And, we all need Steve to be around for everyone and for himself - for many many years to come.
