Hello,
My name is Jayden and I am a year 9 student at Breckland School and I am participating in an expedition to Borneo in July 2026.
This will be a four week expedition and will include community development work, environmental projects and wildlife conservation. It will also include a 5 day trek through the Borneo jungle to explore the unique jungle ecosystem.
The core objectives of this expedition are to undertake projects in order to:
- Raise the educational standards of developing communities within a rural district of Indonesia
- Raise the living standards of developing communities, within a rural district of Borneo
- Assist with ongoing wildlife conservation programs to preserve biodiversity and protect vulnerable habitats. I will be actively helping to protect the orangutan habitats in the Borneo jungle.
This expedition is extremely important to me as i will be living and working alongside the local communities. Because of this I feel that I will acquire and develop many important life skills such as stepping outside of my comfort zone, pushing my boundaries, broadening my perspective of the world and gaining key extra-curricular experience highly regarded by universities and employers.
The expedition comes at a cost of £4890 minus any kit, equipment and immunisations i will need as well.
I will be doing various fundraising events throughout the year and would be extremely grateful for any and all contributions you can make towards my fundraising.
