My name is Valerie. Kristina is my daughter and Allen is my “son-in-law.” Recently, Kristina had to miss a week of work due to mental health struggles. She was in the hospital during that time, with no income. Allen was forced to stay home with the kids and miss work also. Due to him having to take the time off, his work set him up for FMLA, and he has not been able to return to work and will not be able to until November 17th. His job pays bi-weekly, so he will not have any income until December 4th. Due to this unexpected loss of income, they are struggling financially. Their rent just increased also, which is not helping. They are facing eviction. Also, housing for the homeless just opened across the street from their home in Concord, causing more crime and drug paraphernalia around their home. Ideally, they’d like to move, but of course, that is very expensive. Any money raised will go directly to them to help with the cost of their rent ($2,530) and at least another month so they can catch up financiallyand/or being able to move to a safer location for the kids.
