Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of British Disability Fencing and every donation will help. I am Viv Mills and I am a wheelchair fencer, a former international athlete and now a coach.https://www.facebook.com/wheelchairfencinggbr https://twitter.com/BDF_GBR https://www.instagram.com/bdf_gbr https://britishdisabilityfencing.co.uk/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4663QK8jTxk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmcPZEU3p0s
Wheelchair fencing is a sport and activity that can impact the lives of all those who want to try it.
It is a great physiotherapy aide, making you reach and stretch in your wheelchair. It also helps with balance and strengthens the core.
It gives back to you the confidence and self esteem you lost when you became disabled. There is nothing better than the adrenaline rush of sabre fighting, where Zoro meets Darth Vader.
It is also a Paralympic sport, and for those who wish to compete, it's exhilarating!
British Disability Fencing needs your support. We are not funded by UK Sport, just two of our top athletes, and we are desperately short of funds.
Starting just after Easter I am going to push my wheelchair up and over the Tangmere footbridge, which spans the A27 in West Sussex, a total of 400 times, completing a distance of 100 miles.
Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
