Vivienne's Disabilities and Financial need

This GoFundMe was made on the behalf of Vivienne Pina and her family, and will be in regards to Vivienne's present needs:

Vivienne Pina, a loving widowed mother of 4 children, has been facing the harsh realities of homelessness and poverty since her late father's passing in 2020 left her family unable to afford living in California any longer, and she moved her family to Texas in hopes of being able to afford to live with a lower cost of living. She had been displaced into the home of a family friend unexpectedly after moving the accomodations she'd planned for her family fell through and left her struggling to get back on her feet.

After a debilitating stroke, Vivienne's family have been attempting to get her on Texas nursing home Medicare since September of 2022, and have been met with repeated resistance from hospitals, nursing homes, and Ombudsmans due to their apparent lack of understanding of the Medicaid process and willingness to cooperate with Vivienne's family due to lack of medical insurance or Medicaid/Medicare. The onset of the need for Vivienne to require assisted living came about after a life altering stroke on September 17th of 2022 left Vivienne with permanent speech impairment, mental impairment, and her left limbs paralyzed. She is unable to provide for herself and needs to live in a nursing home to ensure a quality of life and care.

After her abrupt discharge from a disconcerned hospital that had been caring for her up until that point due to the aforementioned lack of proper cooperation, Vivienne has been able to stay at a nursing home close to her family due to an accumulation of savings and gracious donations going directly towards the monthly payment for her care. However, the savings that kept Vivienne able to have access to life-saving care have run out, and her family is left unable to pay for the next month. Her application for Nursing home Medicare is in it's final stages of acceptance, but from the time it was filed it could still remain processing for another 30-45 days from it's submission date, if not longer; leaving Viv's family without assurance that she will be able to remain in essential care.

The goal outlined in the GoFundMe will cover the cost of the next 3 months of care for Vivienne, as the nursing home she resides in right now charges an out of pocket cost of 4200 dollars a month. Part of the cost is covered by her monthly pension left to her from her deceased husband's time serving LAPD, but it only covers 1200 of the total cost every month.
