Vivienne and the Godstick is a short comedy sci-fi exploring themes of aging, self-love, freedom and life beyond earth and we need your help to bring our vision to life!

ABOUT THE FILM

This “coming-of-aging” narrative is a 20 minute short and is sure to make your jaw drop, blending taboo humour and psychedelic reflection to explore what it means to reclaim identity at the edge of midlife.

After writing a career stalling life crumbling book titled 'Gods or Aliens?', a quirky recently divorced astrophysicist, Vivienne, finds herself at her best friend’s 50th birthday party. Her night is filled with surprises such as a handbag stowaway (in the form of a vein-riddled dildo called Harvey Wallbanger), her painfully fresh ex-husband, a quirky bunch of party-goers and a micro-dose of psilocybin. Vivienne embarks on a well overdue trip of self-discovery, self-love, and who gives a fuck-ness in this forty-something coming-of-age-ing Australian comedy.

DIRECTIVE

The film is being independently produced and will be shot in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. We believe in telling bold and original stories and bringing Australian cinema to the forefront of the world stage.

The film is intended as a proof-of-concept for a longer project exploring the life of Vivienne and her rag-tag group of friends and foes. Our primary aim is to show the world and potential investors that Vivienne and the Godstick is world that should be expanded upon, something that every dollar will bring us closer to achieving.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

Even though we wish it didn’t, every film costs money to make. As an independent project we are starting from zero but would love to meet a target of $12000 to make our dreams a reality.

This will cover the costs of:

Actor and crew fees

Catering

Props, set and costume design

Post-production costs (Music licensing, sound mixing etc…)

Festival submissions and marketing

Films made at an independent level rely on the generosity of the community. By donating you allow us to continue doing what we love and contributing to the artistic scene of Melbourne.

More importantly you allow us to fairly compensate our talented actors and crew, who often give their time free of charge.

The core team behind Vivienne and the Godstick won’t be paying ourselves, all funds raised will be given to the creative process.
