Dear colleagues and friends,

Those who had the privilege of working with Vivien or interacting with him in any capacity know he was one of a kind. He was a terrific scientist, an excellent artist, and an outstanding human being. We are deeply saddened by his early departure. He will be awfully missed by so many, especially his beloved wife, Becky, and his young son, Sam.
