VIVI'S RECOVERY FUND

On the night of August 07, 2021, while watching TV, our friend Viviana suffered an ICH (Intracerebral Hemorrhage), followed by an SAH (subarachnoid hemorrhage). These are massive life-threatening types of strokes.  She had to immediately undergo several surgeries, including a Hemicraniectomy and a right anterior lobotomy.  Following these surgeries, she suffered a Thrombosis. Thankfully, she survived. The time since then has been spent from intensive care to rehabilitation care, as of now, Viviana has been relearning how to speak and is trying to walk by herself.
As those fortunate to know Vivi, we can attest to her zest for life. She has always thought about ways to positively impact the lives of people she knew. A hard worker that always goes the extra mile, and a very grateful and caring daughter. She greeted each day with love and strength. It is with the strength she has built so far in her life, that she draws now from to fight this next chapter of her life.
We are urgently reaching out to ask for support in this fundraising effort to help our friend, daughter, sister,  and her family.
Today, the longer-term consequences of these strokes are becoming evident, and her left side is paralyzed. Fortunately, her intellectual and cognitive skills are back to what they were before the stroke. The physical recovery road ahead looks extremely challenging for Vivi. Her continued progress will require several physical therapy sessions at a rehabilitation center. Unfortunately, her health insurance provider has informed us that it will not cover the full amount of all the speech, and physical therapy she needs. After a scheduled surgery to repair her skull in early January, her rehabilitation process will continue at home, where modifications will be required to make it easy for her to move around and to get back to a routine.
We know Vivi’s determination and tenacity, even her Doctors’ have said her progress so far has been remarkable. The effort she puts into her daily therapies have gained much improvement. She has not let her pain and /or frustration become impediments to her recovery. She continues to foster the mentality and attitude “this too shall pass” . This difficult situation will not determine the future of her quality life.
We are asking for your contributions to help raise funds to cover medical expenses, and physical treatments that will not covered by the insurance company: from transportation to and from therapies to the proper adaptation of her house to her new physical condition.
We also humbly ask if you will share this with friends and family who may wish to contribute (any amount at all will help). We know Viviana always tried to pay-forward her blessings as often as possible and we hope others believe in doing the same.
