Vivian Needs Your Help for Surgery Relief

Hi!

My name is Vivian (she/they). I am 26 and I live in Portland, OR. My entire life, I have had larger-than-normal breasts, which have been a focal point for my general struggles with severe body dysmorphia and gender dysphoria. I have been binding my chest since 2016, only causing additional pain on top of the constant back, shoulder, and neck pain from having a larger chest. This has further aggravated my HS, a skin condition leading to painful lesions and scarring all over my chest -- which is something that would also be treated via breast reduction surgery and be life-changing for me.

I have dreamed of having a breast reduction surgery for as long as I can remember. Having my surgery consult felt like a light at the end of a very long and dark tunnel, giving me an idea of how much this would change how I live my life. For a long time now, I have not been able to live normally because of how these conditions affect me in every facet of my life.

Of course, this system is a broken one and health insurance doesn't actually like to pay, so I have since had financial coverage for this procedure be denied. The overall cost of the procedure is just under $11,000 and I am looking for assistance with up to half of the cost. I am new to asking for help and with this, I am seeking some assistance to pay towards something that will completely change my world and how I move around in it. Literally anything helps.
