Hey everyone!
Before I start this, I want to thank everyone who has made it here to this fundraiser. It means the world to me that you're here. No matter how you interact with this, thank you for taking the time to witness it. <3
Now for the news: After a few years of talking and loose planning, plus a pandemic pause that we're still in, I've decided to finally give it a shot in the Big Apple. Yup, ya girl is planning a move to New York City full-time! There have been many roads leading to this decision, and now (as complicated as now is) has proven to be the time in many different ways. My hope is to develop relationships with people inside and outside of the artistic communities, the Queer and Trans communities, and develop deeper connections with loved ones in the city.
As of right now, the plan is to be in NYC between March 1st and April 1st. I'm currently looking into where I'll be in the city, but I'm keeping an open mind to what that looks like. This is definitely a dream of mine, and I'm so grateful to have the help of you all to make this dream a reality in 2022. I hope folks are as excited about the move as I am to finally make it after all this time!
Here's a bit about what I'm specifically fundraising for:
- Cost of moving: gas, U-haul, moving equipment (boxes, instrument cases, packing tape, etc.), potential moving crew, food and drink while traveling, hotel at a halfway point if needed. There may be other things, but I think this is the bulk of this bullet point.
- Security Deposit/First month's rent in NYC.
- Storage for Musical and Other Equipment.
- Fund for incidentals on the road (hopefully there won't be any issues during the trip, but it's something I wanna be prepared for).
All of this is currently being researched, and I hope to have updates on a fairly consistent basis for y'all. I know this is ambitious, and that people have their own lives to maintain, so I totally understand if donating is not possible. In place of that, I ask y'all to share in your networks as much as possible, so we can all get the word out together.
