Hi! My name is Katrina. I’m a visual artist living in New York City. I’ve got a large cataract in my left eye, there’s one developing in my right eye and I need to get cataract surgery; it’s impeding my vision and it’s gotten worse. I need good eyesight to do the arts - adjacent money gigs I do: jobs like decorative painting, portrait painting, headshots, portrait photography, video editing and basic interior painting. I’m trying to raise a few bucks to ease the strain. I won’t be able to work for a while (it’ll probably be a month until I can see properly) and the out of pocket costs are around 4000$. I know there are very many other worthwhile causes out there, and most of my artist friends are just as strapped as me, I’m grateful you even read this far!
