On June 19, 2025, the Ridge Avenue United Methodist Church experienced a once-in-a-lifetime natural disaster; the first in its 178-year history on this corner of Upper Roxborough. A mighty windstorm split and brought down our tree. Whether shade for outdoor worship and holiday picnics, a canopy for Live Nativity or shade for summertime vacation bible school; this tree did it’s job!

Planted in 1932, the tree was dedicated in celebration of

General George Washington’s 200th birthday. Since then this mighty oak has served our

ministries. The church has an

insurance policy, it’s not going to be enough ...
