Vision Trip 2025: God's Kingdom and the Church in Turkiye

I want to share about a wonderful opportunity I have this coming May, and to invite you to support me through prayer and (if you're able) financial help. Alongside a wonderful group of peers, I will be traveling to Turkiye on a vision trip. In many ways, Turkiye is the center of the world. It has been the bridge between the East and the West for thousands of years. Long ago, Turkiye was the fertile soil from which much of the early Christian church arose, and before that it played a central role in the Roman and Greek empires. These things make Turkiye a wonderful place for my group to expand our vision of the world we live in and strengthen our faith in the coming of God's kingdom.

Today, Turkiye is a hub of Muslim culture. Over 99% of the country identifies as Muslim, which provides a unique opportunity to learn about and engage with a very different culture from our own. I will also get to connect with the church in Turkiye and observe the ways that the small Christian population there seeks to follow God faithfully.

After spending two weeks in Turkiye, I will also get to spend a few days in Athens, learning about ancient Greco-Roman history and visiting places that were central to the early church, like the Aeropagus where Paul spoke. I will close out my trip be visiting L'Abri in Switzerland, which is a place for thoughtful reflection and Christian study.
