Vision treatment for little Evelyn

Hello, my name is Diana and I am a close friend of Lera Duloglo and her family.

After the passing of their son, Matthew, and several miscarriages, Lera and Ivan finally had their long-awaited baby girl, Evelyn, born in 2021. She was born via emergency C-section with several complications, one of which affects her vision. Evelyn was diagnosed with bilateral optic atrophy (no vision in both eyes). This unfortunately caused severe developmental delays and is a major contributing factor to her other complex diagnoses. Every single clinic they turned to for a second opinion told them the same thing: that repairing damaged optic nerves is impossible and there is no hope for any kind of glasses/treatment/surgery. They were absolutely devastated. Unfortunately, vision isn’t the only issue, but it is amplifying her other health concerns.

By the grace of God, they came across a doctor in Germany that works with this exact optic issue, so they reached out. After an extensive review of Evelyn’s medical records and imaging, Dr. Fedorov replied that he believes his treatment can help her regain some vision. At Fedorov Restore Vision Clinic, the doctors use electrical stimulation therapy to stimulate blood flow in the pale optic nerves. This would require the family to travel to Berlin, Germany and do daily treatments over the course of 2 weeks. The doctor informed them that this is a time-sensitive matter. Evelyn has a better chance for brain development the sooner she is able to regain some of her vision, our most vital sense.

Since this opportunity came up suddenly (the treatment is scheduled to start on May 19, just a few short weeks away), the family was not financially ready to cover the out-of-pocket cost of the full treatment and flight. Any donations made will go directly toward the treatment cost. The family currently has several ongoing medical expenses, both for Evelyn and her mother as well. Please keep Lera in your prayers as she is dealing with a serious health concern of her own and needs the strength and ability to be able to care for Evelyn.
