Vision Therapy for Benjamin!

We've been struggling for years trying to figure out why reading and learning has been progressively harder for Benjamin each year. 

Turns out that not only does he need glasses, but his eyes have been unconsciously rereading words back and forth on each line of text, making reading laborious and frustratingly slow. It's impacted his self-esteem and academic identity and there's only so many times I can tell him his learning is just different, his smarts are more than fine.

The good news? We finally have a solid answer and a solution that should help him experience the JOY of reading and learning. And hopefully it will bolster his academic self-esteem to be able to read at the same pace as his peers. 

The bad news? While glasses are covered by our health insurance, vision therapy is not. The full cost of treatment is $11,800. (YIKES.)

We're grateful to a few of you who have requested we put together this GoFundMe to try to defray these costs. Every little bit helps. 

Every dollar donated will help us stay that much out of debt and able to get him the tutoring and support he needs to catch up.
