Vision is more than sight

I have started this fund raiser to help me a visually impaired bike rider. I have been a bike mechanic for 24 years. I was recently fired from my bike shop job that I had for the last 19 years. When I lost my vision from diabetes 12 years ago. I thought my life was over. After going through some depression and some rough times, I decided that I was going to get my life back together. I was an avid bike rider. It has always been a passion of mine and I had to figure out how to ride a bike again, but this time without sight. The kind of bike riding that I love to do was going to be impossible to do without sight or at least that is what I was told and started to believe. I took it in small steps and I had to basically relearn how to ride a bike all over again. Fast forward a few years and I had become as good at riding my bike without sight as I was when I had my vision. Later I was asked to come out to a school to put on a bike show and speak to the kids about overcoming the challenges that I faced while I was losing my vision. One school show lead to another. I was working full time as a mechanic at a bike shop at the time and my shows were a side project. Though I really wanted it to become a full time program, I just didn't know how to transition from one to another.

Losing my job was and is terrifying But it has allowed me to focus on a direction in my life that is important to me. That is to motivate and inspire people of all walks of life. Weather they are disabled or not, to show them that you can overcome any challenges that are put in front of you no matter what it is.

The reason I Am asking for your donations is to help me and my family get through this transitional period in my life. Losing a job unexpected is not how I wanted to go about this process.

I have a family that is becoming more stressed as time goes on. I have 2 boys that are dependent on me. With the holidays just around the corner I am nervous for my kids. I am looking for work so that I can pay the bills. However it's not easy to fine a job as a visually impaired person. Plus I really want to focus on my true calling, which is to help people. I have been through a lot in the short time that I have been on this earth. I have a message of hope an inspiration that people need and want to hear.

If you can help me by donating to help me not worry about the bills that are due over the next few months, but allow me to focus on my speaking program that I am currently working on. Not only will you be helping me but you will be helping the thousands of people that I will be getting in front of to inspire.
If you want to see what I do and have been doing on my bike. Please search for “Blind Bike Trials”. there are tons of videos and articles about me and how I have already inspired people. You can also go to my web site at blindbiketrials.com
