Hello to you! At the suggestions of friends, I created this account and hope it serves well as a way to pool funds for my accrued and upcoming medical expenses. I have severe proliferative diabetic retinopathy in both eyes causing vision loss. This is due to over 25 years as a type 1 diabetic, diagnosed at 16. • Costs for multiple injections and procedures on my eyes over the last year or so have added up considerably and continue to accrue. An additional procedure is now needed *and scheduled* for May 17th with the funds already raised here ($2300 as of 5-4-22) and in my Yard Sale Fundraiser ($4725 on 4-30-22)! This procedure is needed because of the recent and significant retinal hemorrhage in my right eye causing complete loss of vision. Vision in my left eye is just shy of being considered legally blind. So, yes! I have filed for SSI/Disability and am aware of the extended time frame in which an approval could be given. (Nothing yet and I applied on Nov 2021) So here, I’m pooling funds to: 1. pay the accrued bills off (almost $6000) 2. pay for the continued care of both eyes and surgery for the right eye. (Surgery is set and able to be paid for!) 3. pay monthly living expenses while waiting on SSI approval •It’s a big ask but with a HUGE God!• “There’s always a ram in the bush.” Is a saying I heard recently and it Rings very true.
