My name is Jeannine Tidwell and I live in pristine, Sandpoint, Idaho. My life's work has been about reconnecting people with nature, themselves, their families, friends and their communities. This work of connection and reconnection has often included deciphering and decoding, often untangling and making sense of many of the elements visible and invisible in modern culture that have created disconnection. And so I have served as a midwife helping bring people back to the circle of connection and nature. My life's work culminated in the birth of an educational organization called Twin Eagles Wilderness School in 2005. Simultaneously, my path also included the honorable work of becoming a mother to two beautiful sons.
I am now at a place in my path where I am at a crucible. I am in between visions. I see there is something just beyond my immediate sight for what I am to do next with the life and energy I've been given. I woke up one day this fall and knew that my next step was to go on a Vision Fast. This is a Rite of Passage and ceremony marking an important stage in someone's life. I don't know that I have all the words and ways for describing why I am being called at this time but I do know I can hear the calling and it's imperative I respond to it.
The Vision Fast will be held in Death Valley, California and will include a time of being in nature alone without food for 4 days. There will be a time of preparation with guides and a time of incorporation with them as well.
My hope is to be able to be still enough to listen to whatever needs to be heard. In that listening perhaps I'll be able to bring back a gift. To someone. To everyone.
In order to go I know I'll need support. The funds raised for this will go directly towards compensating The School of Lost Borders and for the guides who will lead me through the Vision Fast, for I would never embark on such an undertaking without one. The funds will also pay for a rental car, plane ticket and any other materials needed for the passage.
Vision Fast (includes manual and entrance fee into Death Valley) $540
Travel costs $450
Rental car/fuel $100
Food and any other supplies $150
