As most of my friends know, I've been doing everything I can to keep up with the standard bills along with increasing medical expenses -- cardiac, pulmonary, and others. Social Security is my only income. My vision has been failing, and I was just told that I have rapidly growing cataracts. Even with my glasses, it's getting hard to see. Two doctors have told me it needs to be addressed quickly with removal of the cataracts and new lenses implanted. The first surgery is scheduled for April 8. Medicare co-pays will be $345 for each eye. Any additional funds will go to pay the diagnosing ophthalmologists, meds, and what the surgical center is calling a "facility fee".
