Hello, Pedro Vera here! I am a young aspiring actor and filmmaker with dreams to tell fun and riveting stories! As many know the journey for an actor is long and sometimes rough, especially at first. The undertaking of this career takes courage, patience, perseverance, and most importantly the support of others.
Therefore I extend a hand to join me in supporting Visceral Films in funding their pilot for their new series, Dark Embers. This Southern Fantasy series takes place in the post-Civil War South and follows Samantha Carter, a Union Scout and one of the first women in the military. With her unlikely team composed of former slave and Underground Railroad affiliate, Travis Taylor, and legendary bandit, Francisco Castillo (played by yours truly), they uncover a dark evil brewing in the South.
With this series, we plan to showcase many up and coming artists within the film industry, both Georgia grown and from abroad. We hope to bring this pilot to festivals where we can get the appropriate funding to continue the series and bring to life a story that speaks on life's struggles, journeys, and the truth of humanity.
The funds from this campaign will go strictly to the production of this pilot, and will be used to fund production costs such as: gear rentals, location rentals, costuming, set design, prop design, crew member and cast fees, and of course food for all on working the project. With this project slated to enter production in the coming months, the urgency for this campaign to meet its goal within the next two months has risen.
We understand that 2020 has been a year of ups and downs. The world has faced many issues and struggles in the past few months. Many have lost jobs, lost homes, lost hope. You may ask why should I fund this? I ask you to think of the many films and shows that have brought a smile to your face when you were low. Think about the scenes that moved along your screens that sparked your imagination and fueled your spirit. Think of the characters that you cried with, you laughed with, that you connected with. These beautiful works of art that lit the fires of hope in your life, were created by people with a dream to tell stories that aimed to inspire. And these very same people struggle right along side you during this tough time. They only wish to continue to bring you inspiring and hopeful works, and to do what they love. We would be grateful and honored if you would help us bring more stories for you to connect with. Starting with this series.
