Visage - Short Film
Donation protected
The word "visage" is French for "face," referring to the front of something that is uniquely yours.
Faces are distinctive and vibrant, brought to life through expressions and defined features. Each of us possesses this unique characteristic—one that belongs solely to you and reminds others of who you are. But can you imagine having a face that doesn't belong to you, one that others control?
"Visage" is a short film designed to empower the ideas of uniqueness and individual worth by directly contrasting the meaning of the word "visage."
My name is Andrew Collinson, and I want to create a film that not only explores the struggle with envy and the quest for self-discovery but also examines morality and the dynamics of power and influence over others. Through the film Visage, I aim to illustrate the importance of accepting who we are while also remaining ambitious about the potential of who we could become.
This project stems from personal struggles and a real passion for storytelling. I've always dreamed of living a life where I could share meaningful stories and create art that feels deep and rich. My latest project is Why M.E?, a short selected for the Northampton Film Festival.
Here is a link to my previous film ‘Why M.E?’ on YouTube.
Meet some of the team!
Andrew Collinson – Writer, Director & Producer
Hello, my name is Andrew, and I’m a writer and director based in London, UK.
I’ve been fortunate enough to know what I’ve wanted to do since I was 11 years old: work alongside amazing people on remarkable projects as both an actor and a director. Over the years, that dream has evolved into a broader sense of creativity.
To put it simply, I’m passionate about words, imagery, and nearly anything that evokes human expression.
On paper, I’m a writer, director, producer, and actor, but really, I’m just me— a creative person with a love for storytelling! That’s how I like to say it.
Yuli Freed – Director of Photography
Hi, my name is Yuli, and I’m a young cinematographer based in Bristol, UK.
I’ve been making films since my mom gave me an old film camera at 7 years old, and I absolutely love the process of making an image beautiful.
I’ve been lucky enough to work on some amazing projects with incredible people, notably the Bafta/Cannes-nominated Wild Summon and Timepiece short film.
I hope to continue meeting amazing creatives and producing powerful imagery!
