Virtual School Supplies Drive -Elementary School

I am asking for your assistance in augmenting a backpack drive that I have started to assist students at my alma mater, Isla Vista Elementary School. I have been a Youth Making Change (YWC) member since 8th grade, and I donate part of my stipend towards the Backpack Drive, a movement that collects and delivers backpacks and other personal school supplies to students at our local school. The UCSB Professional Women Association (PWA), the organizers, sets up donation boxes at several locations at UCSB, and I drop off my donations at one of these locations each year.

I am not sure how things are going to be like this year due to COVID-19. I have not checked with PWA, but I was inspired by my dad’s former UCSB student to start a virtual backpack drive to benefit my former elementary school, IV Elementary, here in Goleta.

 

So far I have secured the following:

 

·      48 backpacks

·      144 #2 HB pencils

·      144 BIC pens

·      120 manual sharpeners

·      64 emoji erasers

 

I am sure the students could use some more supplies. Please consider helping bring a smile on their faces by donating towards the following:



·      Erasers

·      Colored Pencils

·      Pens

·      Pencils

 

I plan to drop these things off in a socially-distanced manner at my former elementary school.
