VA State Trooper Anthony LaPiana struck on I-81
Donation protected

On 9/30/23, Anthony LaPiana, a Virginia State Trooper, was outside of his vehicle on I-81 performing a traffic stop when he was struck by another vehicle. At the time of the accident, three motorcycles were fleeing. One of the motorcycles came into contact with Anthony causing his body to be pushed into a lane where an oncoming vehicle struck Anthony. He sustained critical injuries including a traumatic brain injury, brain bleeds and contusions, multiple open skull fractures, a tibia/fibula fracture that has required surgery, and an elbow and hand injury limiting his hand function. He is actively developing more issues as a result of this accident. He spent a week in the ICU where, at first, he did not even recognize the people most familiar to him.
Anthony is not only the best trooper out there, but he is a great person, and he came very close to losing his life. He was only 25 years old at the time of the accident. We are all so grateful that he was able to celebrate his 26th birthday two weeks later. Anthony and his wife are expecting their first baby boy this March. We are asking friends, family, really anyone, to donate whatever they can to assist with the LaPiana’s living expenses and baby expenses. Anthony’s family anticipates a long, difficult road ahead to recovery. Any donation is extremely appreciated. No amount is too small. Anthony’s family asks that you please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
This fundraiser is managed by Anthony’s cousin, Megan. We are asking for help on his behalf. All proceeds will go to Trooper Anthony LaPiana for his recovery and their growing family. With much gratitude and love, we thank you for your support.
