Virginia & Joe: Recovering from Fire Loss

On 3/4/25 my sister, Virginia Bradshaw and brother-in-law, Joe Lynch suffered a fire that gutted a number of outbuildings at their home in Gumboro DE. Local fire companies put the fire out, or so they thought. The following morning, 3/5/25 apparently smoldering embers started the fire again and companies had to return to again fight the blaze. All tolled they lost five small outbuildings and all of the contents inside. Joe has lost all of his tools for his contracting and carpentry work, along with all of his tools and supplies for refurbishing old tractors. Two air compressors, a small generator, a sandblaster and table saws. A full woodshop with antique and modern hand tools and all the necessary power tools that a carpenter needs. Virginia lost everything from her Christmas decorations to chicken and animal feed to a refrigerator and separate freezer full of food. They couldn't afford insurance on the sheds that Joe had built over the years. They cannot afford to replace the items lost either and now Joe has no tools to work with. His work is the only source of income they have. Most depressing is the loss of six miniature complete replicas of local churches that took hundreds of hours to build which he had intended on donating to those very same churches. The fire even claimed most of their seasoned wood for their fireplace. They are beside themselves with despair and sadly sifting through the rubble of what is left with no clear path on how to recover. They've not only lost a lifetime of memories and tradition but also the means to rebuild. Being in their 60's they could use all the help that they can get.
