Help Virginia & Dave get back on their feet

Hi, my name is Jon Zeeland, and I want to share a story about my good friends Virginia and Dave, who have fallen on hard times. Virginia Pretat Voros is a loving, caring, free spirit blessed with boundless energy. This past winter, she was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, an aggressive form of cancer requiring an equally aggressive treatment protocol.

Little did Virginia know that she was in store for the fight of her life. After months of debilitating chemotherapy, surgery, and then weeks of painful radiation treatments, Virginia is awaiting the final phase of her treatment plan, which will take six months of additional chemo. Her prognosis relies mainly on how well she tolerates the treatment and how effective the treatment is for her.

Virginia's incredible resilience and courage have sustained her faith and optimism throughout this ordeal, yet she is noticeably frail. Her friends and family all pray, lend support and help in many ways.

This, however, is not the end of the story. Her devoted husband, Dave, recently fell off a ladder, badly injuring both ankles. One ankle has ten fractures. He is convalescing at home, unable to work, and awaiting more tests and orthopedic evaluations. Since Dave is self-employed, there are no benefits or income.

Dave and Virginia live in Eastham, MA and the rent is $3,000/month. The rent was increased by $1,000/month in September. They were unsuccessful in finding a less expensive rental unit. Everyone knows how rugged housing has been, especially on Cape Cod. Furthermore, their condition prevents them from moving at this time.

Dave and Virginia have exhausted their emergency funds and desperately need help to pay the rent as well as other bills. Virginia's oncologist is adamant that she does not work while undergoing treatment.

I hope you can find it in your heart to donate any amount. Whatever you give will be greatly appreciated. The funds will be used to cover as many months of Virginia and Dave’s rent as possible. Hopefully, we can reach six months, allowing Virginia time to complete her treatment and have Dave back on his feet.
