Friends and family,
I wanted to touch base about my Grandmother, Virginia Casados. My name is Angel, I am one of her grandchildren and I am reaching out on behalf of my family. Sometime after Thanksgiving myGrandma Virgina was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. Upon receiving the information, her medical team moved quickly and was given her first chemo treatment. She has now completed two full treatments.
Every 3 weeks Marie (Virginia's daughter) and her husband Carlos have been taking her to Colorado Springs from Center to receive treatments. Robert Jr. (Virginia's son), has also been traveling from Greeley to be with her during her treatments.
Our family has come together as much as possible to help get her to appointments and offer her the care she needs. However, achieving all of this includes a lot of parts...traveling, groceries, medication, among many other things to keep her comfortable and healthy.
Although we have banded together to make sacrifices and aid her financially, we are aware things will continue to get tough as we move forward. Ultimately, we never want her to have to worry about the financial stress or strain of her condition. We have humbly come to the decision that extra assistance would go a long way in this situation.
With that said, we greatly appreciate all of the help and people who have already checked in with us.
Any further help would assist in covering travel expenses to and from her appointments. This includes gas money and lodging for overnight stays. Support would further help pay for medical bills that have started to trickle in. We can assure any donation is going entirely to her.
Every contribution, no matter the size, assures we can continue to pursue the most hopeful outcome. We are unsure how long we have left with her or how chemo will help the state of her condition. We are in a holding pattern until after she receives her third treatment, then we will find out if the chemo is helping.
In spite of the circumstance, she has been fighting and strong! It has been easy to remain positive because she continues to be in high spirits. She still laughs and jokes as most of us know her to. She expressed early on she wanted to do whatever possible to fight this. Surely, she seems stronger and better than before the treatments started and this gives us hope!
Your kindness and support go beyond financial assistance. It provides our family and Virgina with hope, comfort and knowledge that she isn’t alone in this journey. She is loved and her presence is enjoyed by so many. She has lived her sweet and simple life on Fullenwider Ave. for a long time. We wish for her to comfortably keep doing so for as long as possible.
Thank you for taking the time to read and connect with us. We know we haven’t had the chance to inform everyone about her condition up to this point, so I appreciate being able to get everyone up to speed and know that helping her is our number one goal. Your support means more than we could ever express. We are grateful for any contribution you can make. A phone call or a prayer is just as encouraging.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to stay up to date or if you would like to contact her personally just to offer her company and support.
With gratitude,
