Virgil Greene Memorial Fund

Virgil Greene was a gentle soul, and unfortunately orphaned at a young age in South Dakota. Fortunately for all of us, he moved to Boston, where we all came to know him as an avid gamer, a lover of anime, Lovecraft, roleplaying, Glorantha, all things geek, politics, and walks around the city.  He was quiet but funny, curious and smart, a maker of silly jokes, and a good friend. 10 years ago he contracted lymphoma, but miraculously pulled through. This past year it returned, but the chemo treatments were much harder on him. Sadly, on March 30 they took his life.  He was in his 50s, young at heart and soul really.  We're all much poorer without Virgil, and we will miss his composed, whimsical presence at our table and his unassuming humor.

We are his family, and we want to remember him not for the many difficulties in life he faced, but for the fact that he always had fun anyway.

We hope to raise $5,000 for his cremation and a simple plot for him at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden, Massachusetts, the city where we all met.  Farewell, Virgil. You were a fellow traveler, and we will miss you.
