As most of you have heard, the Floral Park/ Stewart Manor community was dealt a devastating blow on the morning of September 27, 2020 when a fire made its way throughout Covert Ave, destroying numerous local businesses. Many of which have been burnt completely to the ground. Others needed to be destroyed in order for the brave firefighters to contain the spread of the fire. Although it has not yet been determined whether or not the remaining structure has been compromised to the point that would require it to be fully demolished, the fact is they have already faced extensive damages and will be closed indefinitely. At this time, it’s important to remember that these aren’t some faceless corporations possessing insurance policies that will provide them with profitable outcomes. These are our friends and families that are facing an unexpected tragedy and will need help in order to get back on their feet.
VIPizza is one of those businesses. Rob and Nicole have extended their gratitude to so many of us in our times of need, as recently as their seemingly unending supply of food to the local hospital staffs during this Covid outbreak. Anyone that knows them knows they do not seek attention for their goodwill nor are they ones that ever ask for help. This, however, is a time where help is needed. If you are able to make any contribution that will help make their situation any easier ahead of the uncertainties and inevitable hardships they will face, it is much appreciated. If you can’t, we ask that you keep them and all the other families affected by this tragedy in your prayers. #covertstrong
