In February, 2017 our little Violet was diagnosed with a type of brain tumor called an Optic Nerve Glioma. This rare tumor is benign, but is also inoperable and the course of treatment is chemotherapy.
Violet receives amazing care at UNC Children's Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC. The team of Pediatric Oncologists and their team are the unsung heroes that treat children with conditions like Violet's with unwavering strength. They treat us with love and kindness and we feel so blessed to be able to receive care here.
We are so fortunate to have health benefits and recognize that many of our medical expenses are covered. However, treatments are expensive and we will be responsible for a portion that is expected to exceed $15,000 .
Matt and I wouldn't be able to do this without support from family and friends. We are forever grateful for everyone who has shown their love for our family. Without it we wouldn't be strong parents for our sweet Violet.
