Violet’s Gender Affirming Surgeries

Donation protected
Hello everyone! It’s me, Violet! As some of you know I started my social transition in 2020 and medically transitioned in April 2022. Over the past few years I’ve come to realize that the gender dysphoria I experience has led me to getting gender affirming surgeries. Which include Facial Feminization Surgery, Breast Augmentation, and Vaginoplasty to help feminize my face and body in a way that helps to alleviate my gender dysphoria. In order for me to feel congruent and wholly myself I desperately need these surgeries and that is something I accept and have been wanting since the very beginning honestly.

The process of getting approved for these surgeries has been a very long and difficult task of constant self advocacy, being asked to prove that I’m trans and am experiencing gender dysphoria, and dealing with the bureaucratic healthcare industry. Thankfully my insurance has agreed to cover these surgeries.

Currently I have my consult for FFS scheduled in September and expect surgery to be sometime at the end of the year or the beginning of next. This surgery will include hairline lowering, brow lift, brow bone reduction, trachea shave ("Adam's Apple" removal), and a chin and jaw reduction. The recovery for FFS is expected to have me unable to do the work I do for a minimum of one month, and will include needing to stay in Portland for at least a week for checkups with the surgeon.

I am currently awaiting my consult for Vaginoplasty as they need me to see a urologist prior to that visit, that urologist visit is scheduled in November. The expected time recommended to take off work for vaginoplasty is around 3 months and will also include needing a lot of supplies like panty liners, maxi pads, rags, sitz bath, gauze, disposable underwear, neosporin, surgical lube and more. Which will add up in cost quickly.

I have already spent thousands of dollars on laser hair removal, clothing, make up, and medications. For me, transitioning has saved my life and these surgeries will allow me to navigate through life comfortably and fully myself.

I financially support myself and my partner, so any amount of time off of work causes our bank account to empty rapidly. My living expenses are $2000 a month (food, rent, insurance, gas, medications) so with the anticipated 4-5 months off of work (collectively) I will not be able to bring in money during that time to survive and pay the bills for myself and my partner, who plans to be my full time caretaker, while I’m recovering. The money donated will go directly to covering general living expenses while I’m out of work and help me buy the supplies that are needed post-op.

Any amount will help me reach this major goal, even donations of the supplies mentioned! If you are unable to give please consider sharing this fundraiser on your social media and in social groups. Thank you all so much for the love and support

Your girl,
Violet

Update #1: I’ve got my breast augmentation consult scheduled in October! It’s happening y’all!
