Patient was unable to be removed from kennel due to fearful behavior. Patient has a meatball in kennel with carprofen and trazodone. Given inability to pill, patient's discomfort and anxiety cannot be managed in the shelter setting. (10/21) Patient is a dog on bite quarantine who could not be removed from kennel today due to fearful behavior. Patient has a very large, mammary tumor visible. Attempt re-assessment in two days Behavior Observation: (10/24) Per Lifesaving- sitting in corner of kennel, did not move when kennel door opened shaking laying down, ate high value treats tossed near her, tossed treats slowly a little further away and after a minute or 2 got up to eat treats, took a 2 treats gently from hand (first treat taken had a very brief low tail wag), displaying many calming signals (lip licking, avoiding eye contact, shaking, tense body), went to take another treat, but as she leaned in to take another treat she barred teeth and snarled. Then retreated back to the corner of her kennel and would no longer approach. (10/23) Vet Staff -- Trembling at back of kennel. Low growling. Whale eye. Bearing teeth (10/21) Vet Staff - Shaking, whale eyeing and low growling at back of kennel. Did not remove from kennel due to behavior. (10/20) Bite Details -- Dog bit ACA on right hand at the time of intake. Dog was uncooperative and would not walk on lead. As ACA attempted to apply leash muzzle to lift dog, dog lunged and bit two fingers. (10/20) Finder- (kept for 1 1/2 weeks) overall friendly and docile, fine on leash, noticeable mass on underside This animal is not available through ACCT Philly's Adoptions Programs, due to serious concerns with observed medical and/or behavioral issues.
