The ARCHIVE OF RECORDED CHURCH MUSIC has been working tirelessly over the past few years to digitise over 11,000 recordings and broadcasts —capturing the rich heritage of choral and liturgical music from shellac records to reel-to-reel & cassette tapes, CDs, DVDs, and TV broadcasts.
Now, we’re nearly there.
Just 350 of the 1,518 vinyl records remain to be digitised. The sleeves and labels of all the vinyl have been scanned in readiness for this vital work.
We need your help to complete this final stage.
Described by the Royal College of Organists as “a collection of unparalleled historical importance,” the archive safeguards an irreplaceable part of our choral heritage.
Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to completing this important work, carried out on our behalf by digitalmemories
The cost of this project will be approximately £3,350
If you contribute, you will
- be ensuring these precious recordings are preserved and accessible for generations to come
- be acknowledged (unless you wish to remain anonymous) in our list of sponsors and contributors
If donations exceed the total cost, any surplus will help towards
- the annual maintenance costs of the Archive
- further research into recordings and choirs
- continuing acquisition of rare and historic recordings
