About 2 weeks ago my brother Vinny’s wife and son were sitting in their car in their own driveway when a man high on drugs ran off of the road in a stolen vehicle and totaled their “brand-new” classic car. The car held a lot of sentimental value to Vinny and Kelly and is now totaled, but thankfully Kelly and their son came out of the accident unharmed.
Now being two weeks later, Vinny stopped home Thursday afternoon to quickly use the bathroom while on a work break. In that short time that he was in the house the same drug-addicted man stole his vehicle right from his driveway. Which is clear and pretty scary to think that this man who they have zero affiliation with was stalking the house waiting for a good moment to act.
The car was found thankfully hours later in a parking lot in Poughkeepsie, however everything including all the tools that Vinny uses to make a living were already stolen out of it.
Police are working on finally arresting the man as he left his DNA on a crack-pipe in my brother’s vehicle.
Praising God that Vinny and his family remain unharmed for the most part through this, besides the emotional trauma. But Vinny is left with zero tools to make his living as a self-employed repairman.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated to get Vinny a new set of work tools, and maybe put something towards a new car that can have new sentiment behind it; the support of their friends, family and community coming together to help.
This family does A LOT for their community. They’re constantly donating to local charities and volunteering time and talents to help their kids’ school teams and events. Kelly is currently in school to become an EMS worker who will soon literally save lives; and the amount of free/extremely bargained work I’ve seen Vinny give away as the “friendly neighborhood repairman” ... I would just really love to see the community pool together and give support to this family during this undeserved chaos that’s happened.
Thank you in advance for any and every donation, sentiment and prayer for them.
God bless this family.
