On Sunday, April 30, 2017, after spending the day at the beach with our family, my 24-year-old son, Hector Vincent (Vince), was gunned down in front of my house. He is a loving, kind, handsome, intelligent, and well-loved young man. He works with special needs children and is taking college courses towards his AA. He aspires to be an engineer, as he is so good in math. As a result of the injury, his brain has swelled, and his treatment at the facility he was taken to is reaching their limits. We are seeking financial assistance towards a second opinion of another neuro surgeon, as well as for possible transportation, equipment, supplies for his care, and possible home/vehicle modifications. While we are not ready to accept the possiblity of him not recovering from his injuries, there is also the potential need for assistance with the expenses incurred in that tragic event. His situation is dire, as his treating facility has nearly reached their capability to treat him. If we don't find any other options for treatment from outside sources, his treating facility will discontinue all treatment, and we will lose him. Please find it in your heart to give whatever you can, as no amount is too small. It breaks my heart as a mother to ever have to ask this for my child.
