On June 24th 2016 Vincent went out with some of his friends. They arrived at a friends house, and were there for only a short time when they heard shots begin to fire. He tried to run away from the direction that the shots were firing from but unfortunately was caught in the gunfire. He was shot 3 times.
Two bullets entered his back and one entered on his side. He was rushed to the E.R. at Baylor Hospital where they immediatley sedated him. He had lost a lot of blood. Vincent has been in the ICU for months and has undergone multiple surgeries. On the last surgery his doctors elected to remove one of his lungs.

He is currently in Baylor Rehabilitation Center where they are working with him to regain the feeling in his legs. His father Vincent (Vinny) Warren knows that this is going to be a very long and difficult journey for him. Vinny currently spends as much time as possible with his son, going to see him early and staying late. He has asked the nurses how he is doing while he’s not there with him. They tell him that he is better spirits with his father by his side. Vinny has taken many weeks off of work to be with his only son. He knows that his son is still very scared and in shock, absorbing his new reality and wants to help him push through to his future.
A little bit about Vincent:
Vincent Jaymon Warren was born January 23, 1999. He has always loved the game of football. He began to play quarterback at age 5 and continued to play through age 15. Vincent advanced to playing slot receiver when he entered high school. He has been one of the top players at this position on the South Oakcliff High School football team. In his sophomore year he scored twelve touchdowns and in his junior year he scored 26. He broke the record for South Oakcliff High School, scoring a total of 38 touchdowns within two years. All the while he maintained his grades in his Advanced Placement classes.
This GoFundMe is being started with the consent and approval of Vinny, (Vincent J. Warren’s father) and the help of a group of co-workers and their family members that love and care for him and his family. Our goal is to continue to support him and his son through his rehabilitation and to see him complete High School. Once Vincent J. can leave the rehab facility, his father hopes that he can set up an area in his home to continue to his physical therapy. We will continue to post updates of his progress. We know that a person with a drive for life such as Vincent still has a bright future ahead of him.
Thank You in advance for any support that you are able to provide help to Vincent and his father on his journey to recovery!
