Our spring break is the first week of April, but many students still come to school every day. Last year, we were able to take our students on a trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium. We then spent the week doing project-based learning about marine life and ocean animals.
Our theme for spring break camp this year is "Incredible Inventors!" This year, we are hoping to take students to the Exploratorium in San Francisco, where they can explore the world through science, art, and hands-on experiences. Many of our students have never even been across the bridge 20 minutes to San Francisco, and this field trip would be an amazing experience for them. The Exploratorium will inspire a number of projects and experiments and child-led inventions at school over the rest of the week. This gofundme will go to almost 200 students! We are asking for $3,600 to make this experience possible.
The $3,600 cost breakdown is as follows:
$1,300: Bus to and from the Exploratorium
$400: Museum tickets
$1,200: Food for students
$700: Extra materials
At Vincent Academy, we want all of our students to become self-motivated, competent, and lifelong learners. We are so appreciative of any support you can give to help our students explore the world beyond West Oakland and expand their love of learning inside and outside the classroom.
