Those who knew Vincent would know that he was a caring and thoughtful man. He was diagnosed with Rapidly Progressing Pulmonary Fibrosis (prognosis of survival for 3–5 years) in February 2019. Vincent was a fighter and started participating in a clinical trial, in hopes of slowing down the progression of the disease since the time of his diagnosis. He was also diagnosed with Lung Cancer in May 2022 and started Chemotherapy and Radiation treatment shortly after diagnosis. He was a trooper through all of this and remained positive. He completed all Chemotherapy and Radiation treatments with success - the tumor size had decreased. Unfortunately, the Pulmonary Fibrosis condition worsened at a more progressive rate. Vincent spent the last days of his life at Memorial Health Systems in Gulfport and passed away peacefully with his family and loved ones by his side on January 4, 2023 at 11:30 AM.
As you know, my brother has passed recently and had been faced with some pretty severe health care issues over the least three years, which also forced him to retire earlier than planned. Unfortunately, he did not carry burial insurance and put a great deal of his savings into treatment options and living expenses after he was no longer able to work.
Vincent’s siblings have arranged a beautiful service and celebration of life for him and will foot the cost - that’s what family does.
His siblings have had people asking how they could help, so we have created a go fund me account which will be used to collect donations to cover the cost of funeral service and final expenses. Anything additional over the cost of those expenses will be donated to the Elks Lodge in Biloxi - the members of which have always been there for our family when needed.
If you’re interested in helping (absolutely no obligation), you can donate here.
Donations in any denomination are accepted and even the smallest donation is greatly appreciated!
