Vince Mundo had surgery in October, 2020 and since then has been on a recovery rollercoaster. What started as dizziness and tiredness soon turned into something way more severe including the inability to walk and severe confusion. After numerous doctor’s visits and ER trips, he was finally admitted to the hospital on 12/31/20 where a number of tests were done to try to determine the cause. While a cause has not been 100% determined, they believe all of this stemmed from a Vitamin B1 deficiency (thiamine) and gave him infusions of B1 along with other treatments to try to reverse the side effects of this severe deficiency.


While the confusion and inability to wake has gotten better, Vince still cannot walk. After being transferred to a sub acute rehab center for 21 days, he was sent home still unable to walk. This entire time he has been out of work and has exhausted all of his leave. Vince and Carrie have 5 kids and while Carrie works full time, the loss of Vince’s income has hit hard.
