Vince Montez needs our help

As many of you know our good friend and brother Vicente “Vince” Montez and his family could use all of our help during this time of adjustment to his receipt of a heart transplant.  They are thankful to the team at Banner Health for saving his life.   His wife Idell and 3 kids Vince, Mialoni and Valentin have been through the roller coaster of emotional and financial issues that come with a person who is constantly sick and in need of expensive treatments.  While they are ever so grateful that he has received the gift of life the truth is that adjusting to the cost and amount of time that is required to be spent near and around the hospital immediately after transplant is taxing financially on most if not all families going through this. Vince’s family is experiencing just that.  As a community we need to come together and ask for assistance for one of our own. 

Vince has experienced a lot of issues in his short 46 years. Over the last 18 years he has fought an uphill battle with heart disease.  At the young age of 28 he had a massive heart attack, at 35 a triple by-pass and over time has had many other procedures to help to prolong his life.  Due to the transplant and the health needs of Vince he was required to take a Medical retirement from the City of Las  Cruces 3 years ago.  His wife has been required to take a lot of unpaid time off during this process as well and as a result has had to deal with mounting financial pressure of epic proportions in order to support their family.  Vince has always taken good financial care of his kids however during this time that has become more and more difficult to maintain.  

Vince’s family is asking for your support so they can make it through these next few months and not have to be scared of the financial uncertainty that is to come.  At this time we are asking all of you to donate financially if you are able.  No amount is too small.  If you find it in your heart we will be forever grateful.  If you can’t donate please share this post far and wide so we can get the word out and get this out to as many people as possible.  Remember to also sign up to be an organ donor.  Don’t hesitate.
