Our good friend Vimary was suddenly admitted to the hospital for a rare case of diverticulitis, where she had such a severe intestinal infection that she had to undergo a 10+ hour emergency surgery. She was hospitalized for 2 weeks, shortly after leaving her previous job, and before starting her new job. This has left her without any income, yet ineligible for unemployment or disability.
