Villareal-Diaz Heart Journey
Donation protected
We are holding a fundraiser in honor of tiny, but mighty & fierce, Isabella Villareal-Diaz and her beautiful family (she is a little sister!). Isabella and her family are from Corozal, Puerto Rico where she was diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy. Unfortunately, treatment modalities and the heart transplant she ultimately needed were unavailable to her there. Isabella's heart was so sick that she required to be urgently life flighted from PR to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in order to have the opportunity for access to life saving medicine.

Shortly after arriving to Pittsburgh, Isabella underwent open heart surgery for an assistive device, known as the Berlin Heart, to help her heart work efficiently. She waited for her heart transplant for 6 months on this device, in addition to many medications. (Good thing she was a star at taking them!!) Isabella received her life saving gift of a heart transplant on 11/7/23.
International patients stay for about 1 year post transplant in order to have the adequate follow up care required. As Isabella's family is not from here, and her whole family is not together at all times (she has two older siblings still attending school in PR) they would be grateful for any assistance.

We ask for anything you can spare in order to help see this journey through! Your donations will be going towards the following:
- Rent
- Groceries
- Travel expenses
- Medication expenses
- Medical Bills
Thank you from the bottom of our ❤️s for any and all help.
