Villa House Fire
Donation protected
On Friday, January 31st my mother lost her home that she had just finished paying off in June 2019 in an electrical fire. Unfortunately the home was not insured.
My mother is a 63yo hard working woman with a big heart that looks out for others. Living with her is her daughter and 3 teenage boys who are also suffering this loss.

Midafternoon on January 31st, 2020 I received a call from my neighbor that my moms house was ablaze. My mom was at the hospital and the boys were at school (I had just arrived at work). One of our neighbors, not knowing that my mom was hospstalized, busted into the house and was able to get one of our dogs and cat out except for one dog. Unfortunately, the house is a total loss and we were not insured due to the roof not being in good shape. We were denied from 3 different insurances since our roof was damaged 2 years ago from the hale damage.
I want to share a little bit of mom:
My mother is currently on remission and she had a scare on Thursday night, that’s why she was admitted to the hospital and stayed for a couple nights. So grateful that she was not home when the fired started. My mom has gone through considerable hardships in life and no matter what she goes through, she has a big smile and is always thanking God for his goodness! She is a hardworking woman and is always busy with my boys, church and extra activities; one of them is making time to feed our homeless people of San Antonio. Mom goes above and beyond to help anyone in need, wether it’s clothing, finding them resources, for someone, or with words of hope and of God’s love. She makes sure my boys are taken care off even if it’s just making some really good quesadillas or bean and cheese tacos, picking them up from school or taking them to activities.
I moved in with my mom a little over 2 years ago to keep each other company (emotionally and financially) as now I am a single mom (we are fighters) and I have 3 beautiful boys, a cat and two dogs. My twins are graduating from high school this year. They have big dreams for their future; one wants to design life saving programs and the other wants to go to Japan and begin an artist. My youngest just started high school and is already planning his future. I’m work full time, go to school full time, and am a mom full time, I wouldn’t change it for the world.
We would love to bring mom back home, where she will be safe and not worry about the future. I know she is a strong woman and has never complained about anything and never asks for help, which is why we are asking for her. Please help. We have a long road ahead in replacing basic goods, while trying to maintain normalcy for the boys and navigating the process of replacing our home and possessions.
Our community has already stepped up by donating their time to help us demolish walls and clean up. We are reaching out to ask for help in any way possible. Donations are sought to help buy material to start rebuilding home.
Any donations are truly appreciated!
