Vietnam Veteran Needs Lung Transplant

Donation protected
Harold Alfred Wagner Jr. served in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971 and was stationed at Camp Eagle in central Vietnam for 13 months before being honorably discharged.

A few years after Hal came home from Vietnam , after being exposed to Agent Orange, Hal suffered two pneumothorax events within days of each other resulting in the need to undergo a procedure known as pleurodesis. The procedure essentially glued Hal's lung to his chest cavity to prevent it from collapsing again.

After living many years with declining capability in his lungs Hal's health condition has reached a life or death situation.  Upon advise from Hal's doctors Hal reached out to the University of Pittsburgh for a lung transplant. Due to the complications of the pleurodesis procedure the University of Pittsburgh declined Hal and referred him to Temple University. Temple University provides transplants for more complicated cases.

Hal has been accepted to the Temple University transplant list under the stipulation he is able to relocate to within a small radius of Temple University. The waiting time for a transplant is unknown but Temple University has said that the wait could be up to a year or more. After the transplant is complete Hal will need to remain in the Philadelphia area for some time to recover.

Hal and his family are relocating but are in need of support from family, friends, and giving souls.

We are trying to reach $5,000 to support Hal for housing, food, transportation, medication, and other miscellaneous expenses related to his condition.

Thank you for taking the time to read Hal's story and thank you for your support.
