Anh Walraven Vietnam Orphanage - Thien An Shelter

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Eric Neidermeyer. My mother in law is Anh T. Walraven and a United Methodist Minister and was a Stephen Minister at local UMC churches here in Sandy Springs and John's Creek. Amongst her many accomplishments as a minister and counselor, she traveled abroad to bring the "Good News" of the Bible and God's word to South East Asia, to lay ground work for the UMC in Vietnam and started an Orphanage (Thien An Shelter) that she put her heart and soul into as well as finances to build it, nurture it and make it a success. It was her passion as well as her calling that made it possible. She was one of the most "Christ-like" individuals I have ever met in my entire life time. Her time and dedication to making others' lives better was unmatched .

However, on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, she lost her long battle with Parkinson's Disease and Neuropathy. She lived with Ana and I since 2009 and in her waining years, we cared for her and I can tell you, Anh never lost her faith in God, nor her mission in life to help children, and continued her progress toward the one day she would be received in Heaven and see Jesus' face.

Ana and I have set up this Donation Page in Lieu of flowers for her funeral and other gifts as it would mean so much to her to carry on that Ministry in Vietnam and help the Orphanage she helped establish and nourish all the years of her life; when she was alive. Ana and I know mom, that she would be proud of ALL of us to help that mission forward in lieu of flowers. She was a very humble and giving person and her mission was very very important to her. We will honor her, cherish her and live on in her; hoping to raise enough to get a room or something in the Orphanage named after her and will assist the other Vietnamese Pastors in accomplishing this and keep it moving forward. Ana and I want Anh's name will live on in the children's lives as well as the Volunteers that work in the Orphanage. So please, in lieu of flowers please donate to Anh's wish to continue that mission. And we thank you for anything you can do. Below are a few pictures of Mom graduating Seminary, the Orphanage, mom and workers and some of the children. Thank you in advance for your support of Anh's wish. Ana and I thank you as well.
