Vietnam Discovery 2017: Jackie Lee
Donation protected
Hello friends, family, and maybe even strangers! Recently I was presented the opportunity of being selected on to Cinematic Arts Experience's first ever, "Vietnam Discovery" team. In partnership with Peace Works Travel, I will be travelling to North and South Vietnam with 14 other high school students, in which we will be combining cultural awareness, adventure travel, and service-learning to create a documentary about the enriching Vietnamese culture.
This trip would begin on June 17, and I would then spend the next 12 days experiencing a life-changing, learning adventure through North and South Vietnam with some of the most talented people out there. Certain cities that I will be travelling to include Hanoi, Saigon, the Tay Ninh province, and the Mekong Delta.
I was given this chance through FilmEd* Academy of the Arts, a program that has shaped my high school experience as a filmmaker to be the best that it could be. They have granted me with overwhelming support, not only from their remarkable instructors, but also with the extraordinary equipment that they let us use. I have met some of the greatest people through FilmEd* and I would not be the individual and artist that I am today without them.

Film in itself has allowed me to grow in ways I never knew were possible. I have gone beyond my comfort zone, made some of my closest friends, and created pieces I never thought I would be capable of. I never knew I could be so abundantly passionate for something, and I could never express my gratitude enough for all that film has done for me.

However there is a little problem...
I am currently balancing not only my extra-curriculars such as ASB, Film, and Big Brothers Big Sisters, but I also have two different jobs in which I am using to save up for this trip. Although the countless hours that I will be working away at those two jobs, the numbers still won't add up to the expenses needed for this trip.
Any contribution that you make will help raising funds for this trip easier. All donations will be going towards not only the airfare, but the accomodations included in the trip.
This includes:
▪ Accommodations and all meals
▪ Entry and Travel Visa
▪ Entrance fees, performances & excursions
▪ Private transportation by A/C coach
▪ Deluxe Overnight Train
▪ English speaking guide
▪ 24/7 Emergency support and crisis management
▪ Professional educator supervision and instruction (2 teacher chaperones per
16 students)
▪ Vietnam War curriculum
▪ Domestic Flights (if applicable)
▪ NGO project activity and donation
▪ Pen pal coordination
▪ Gratuities for tour guides/ drivers
▪ Water & First Aid
Whether it is donating whatever you can, or even just sharing this page with your friends and family, anything and everything means more than you'll ever know.
Thank you so much for spending your time reading about this trip, any and all support is tremendously appreciated. I hope you consider contributing to this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I have been blessed with! :^))
